  •  When my brother was a teenager (2+ / 0-)

I found him hanging around on a street corner with his friends rather than in school.  Being 6 years older and an adult, I put him in his car, took him to school, and when he wouldn't tell me what class he was supposed to be in that hour, I took him into the office to check.

The Vice Principal came out knowing Steve had been reported missing in attendance without a call.  We spoke for a few minutes with my brother grumbling away from us in the office.  He knew me from my time as a student there and we were talking about my education and career (Steve thought it was about him - hahaha!)

No punishment for Steve because what I had planned was worse than detention for skipping school.

I took him to his class, right up to his seat and waited for him to sit down and asked him if he needed me to stay to help him get to his next classes.  His classmates made sure he never forgot that day.

    He never missed another day.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

Thematically right in line with the diary!

Thank you for adding that in!
