    to start the conversation.  This is something that's been on my mind too.  

    Achieving a steady state economy I think would involve vast and permanent changes to our financial structure and business investment structure, as these things now require larger and larger profits each year/quarter/month. Not just in America but worldwide.

    And then there's the problem of our political system which seems to me is mired in its own wealth creation.

    So there's a lot to overcome, but there's much to gain.

      but changes must be made in Humankind's thinking...we somehow must overcome our innate greed and distrust of one another. That will take several generations to accomplish.
