    places on earth.

    I know almost nothing about the teachings of Buddhism, so you'll have to excuse me.  But does Buddhism have anything to say about responsibilities of bringing more and more children into an already overcrowded world?

    It seems to me, we have way too many people on this planet.  That doesn't mean I don't value every human life.  I do.  But, a serious global effort to reduce population would benefit both the planet and mankind's living conditions.

      which would perhaps prefer to call itself a Confucian country, but Buddhism has been there for a long time. However, it's not clear how well China is succeeding.

      I think it's fairly obvious that TPTB around the world have quietly accepted that there will be mortality rate increases in this century, probably in the first half of this century. They are now mainly thinking about how to hold together a system to keep themselves in fat city while the little people burn. This has nothing to do with any religion -- wealth is its own religion.
