    That we used to have a 10-degree rule. If it was 10 or warmer, the kids had to play outside during the day.

    The person to whom I mentioned it thought I had to mean 10℃ (50℉), and was stunned at the thought that I could mean 10℉. Turns out, he lives in Oklahoma, where 50℉ seems almost unbearably cold. Vermont is a little different. If we kept them in for temps of 50 and below, they'd be indoors from September to May. (Ok, not so much, anymore, when we get days in the 80s & 90s in April, now, but under the old rules of a relatively predictable climate).

      If we waited for the rain to stop before doing anything, we'd never do anything. A local news station has a series of promos on it.
