  •  I think a little perspective might be in order (14+ / 0-)

I haven't read the book (since it won't be released until next week) and I think there's a good possibility that those pundits who wrote and talked about it this morning hadn't read the book either.  They don't have a real good track record for honesty and integrity.  According to Media Matters a lot of this is being driven by one of the Village's favorite sons, bob woodward.  bob woodward is NOT someone I trust a lot.

I'm more commenting on the reaction to these early reports about the book. But I'm assuming that these so-called journalists got advance copies of it. And accusing a sitting president of making decisions based on politics instead of national security concerns is a pretty big charge... expecially from his former Defense chief.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

      •  Wow, I read excerpts that said the contrary. (0+ / 0-)

Didn't Gates praise President Obama for being a deep thinker, and willing to make decisions that wouldn't please his democratic base ?

I have stopped listening to cable news so I didn't hear all the crap that has been spouted out.

Wow, the bashing of the president seems brutal. But I'm not surprised.

As usual, in a few days, they'll have to revisit the story to a certain degree and will look like fools. They always jump the gun. Their dislike of the president, combined with their pathetic lust for controversy and scandal, makes them a total joke. Unfortunately, they still have some impact on the opinion of Americans. Their damned "narratives" always cause the President to UNFAIRLY pay a price in approval numbers.

Note: Woodward is a weasel, and is totally, absolutely, completely, OVERRATED.
