  •  Sorry but you kinda got this wrong... (5+ / 0-)
There is no subject that you can't sprinkle in some bigotry to appeal to their fears and biases.
Laffer's statement was premised on bigotry. He sprinkled in some conservatism to justify the fears and biases of Fox's audience.

There is no depth to which these people will not tread.

    •  my point was that bigotry finds its way (4+ / 0-)

in many discussions on any topic brought up on FoxNews.  sometimes they are blatant about it (president hates white culture, white establishment are the minority, minorities "want stuff") or subtle (when they called Obama "arrogant" for attempting to nominate a minority for Secretary of State).

there was no reason on the planet for him to say the minimum wage is the "black teenager unemployment act" except to wink to his audience that they would be the ones to benefit, so you should oppose...

in that case, it was pretty damn blatant.

And you're right on the money. But I couldn't resist twisting your comment just a wee tad to point out the axiom that bigotry is deeply-rooted in the conservative ideology. It's a rationalization.

        Conservatism is just bigotry rebranded.
