    The nature of this particular brand of political payback is particularly resonant with the public, because it's something that impacts them directly. But that's a matter of degree...there's nothing particularly shocking about a politician...and/or his aides,using their office for retribution against political enemies. And sometimes the public is the victim (it's happened in NY and Chicago, re: garbage collection, for example).  Or the Michael Madigan McCormick Place bonds fiasco which costs Illinois taxpayers millions of dollars.

    I'm just kind of commenting on the Watergate level hysterics people are getting into over this. From a political standpoint, I understand it. But this kind of thing is hardly new to politics.

    Dammit Jim, I'm a lawyer, not a grammarian. So sue me.
