  •  Then why the 3 week delay? (0+ / 0-)

That would seem to go against this potential connection. Were they waiting until after Labor Day, when normal traffic resumed? Or, perhaps, to make it not seem obvious that this was political revenge, even though it was the "cold dish" variety? Were they really that "disciplined"?

lanes were closed the week of 9/11.  I doubt that was coincidental.

First week after end of official summer.  Maximum effect.  Shut the bridge down on the Jersey side and everyone trying to get into NYC is fucked.

Also I'm sure it took some time to plan so it didn't appear to be so blatant.  Major fail on that front but hey they tried.

is how anyone at that level could be so stupid as to do this via traceable communication, as opposed to phone calls and in-person contact?

They thought they were untouchable and could get away with it.  That's the only explanation I have.

After all Christie himself tried to tell Gov Cuomo of NY to back off and Christie himself ridiculed the two Democrats who have been investigating this.  I guess he thought that if he threw his weight around (no pun intended) others would back off since he was Governor Chris Christe.  If anything actions like that just incriminate him all the more because he knew way before his morning workout the day the emails were being released.  Those emails were released to the committees weeks ago and he wouldn't have tried to minimize the investigations and tell another governor to back off if he thought there was nothing to hide.

He has a self-discipline problem that IMO makes him unfit to be a leader. He's not just garden (state?) variety overweight, but a man with an obvious and IMO serious behavioral problem that doesn't translate well to being in power.

        •  The real unfortunate result of all this (0+ / 0-)

is not that asshole bullies will curb themselves in the future, but that they will never again leave paper trails.

Then they will deny away, and do so with impunity

        •  They did it via private email (1+ / 0-)

not their official emails, so they undoubtedly thought they had sufficient privacy and that this would never go so far as to be seriously investigated to the point of private emails being subpoenaed.
