Of course, it's just a little bit selfish because the altruist gets pleasure out of seeing someone else do better.

This friend is going die, he is going to pass away earlier than later, unless something radical happens, though radical changes in his life are not in the program.

I need to die with a good conscience, I have enough wish I could change the past but can't lists, but funny my father is about obligation and duty, no deeper. When he bought the family homestead he then resold it for a small profit, felt he did good and didn't get hurt.

But outside his obligation he has little empathy to help out others. I on the other hand can't turn my back and he calls me a sucker. But then again who is he going to ask for help now? He says those who are obligated, but I tell him I am only obligated to help my children, I pay him back going forward....he looked at me perplexed.
