    use by Mexican migrant workers that was used to pass the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 through Congress because the Cannabis Tax Act, the Hemp Tax Act or even the Hashish Tax Act could never have made it to the floor for a vote. Harry J Anslinger was able to push the bill through Congress because the only evidence presented was the stories in the Hearst newspapers of Mexican's committing horrendous acts of violence under the influence of Marihuana. It was all bullshit but they were allowed to get away with it.
