    like me. I'm not a single mom, but a mom, and I say much the same to my kids.

    It all comes down to knowing yourself, being true to yourself, making your own decisions based on your needs and your goals (living up to your own expectations and not the fairy tale expectations of the likes of Maria Shriver), knowing you have support, and demanding/expecting certain human rights like good health care and free and easy access to things like, say, safe birth control - and protection from dangerous situations....

    I'm not saying this well, but you get the gist. You could add finer points under each of the items you list.

    On #4, I would add "physically or emotionally" -- and not only will they have to deal with me, but I will be there for you.
