  •  Neighbors don't care about neighbors (10+ / 0-)

Not for the most part. Yesterday one of the dogs pulled loose from my hands (which have been really hurting me lately and my grip sucks) and chased after one of the neighborhood feral cats (she wanted to play like she does with our indoor cat). My daughter was in the shower, Caedy wasn't home, Draco was asleep. I went wheezing and chasing the dog until I caught her, and then had to make several stops, leaning on people's fences and such on the way home. I had people watching me through windows, and one even opened her door and stared at me while I leaned on her fence trying to breathe enough to move more towards home. My daughter was at this point outside and calling me, but I was out of her line of vision and I was unable to speak. Not a single one of them offered to help, or called back to my daughter, or anything. Just stared at me to make sure I didn't damage their precious lawns or fences as I slowly made my way home to my nebulizer. We've been here just shy of a year now. These people have driven past, walked past, seen us outside with the dogs. I've returned their dogs to them when they've escaped and I've caught them. Some I've even talked to a time or two besides.

Not one of them could offer help or even ask if I was ok.

    •'s just those particular neighbors... (6+ / 0-)

...that's all. We've had neighbors that were really wonderful...and others that are not so nice, even dangerous.

Neighbors come and go. In the past couple years, things are looking better for us regarding neighbors as compared to several year earlier...
