    peregrine kate people using non-enclosure-rated LEDs in enclosed applications, either because a shady mfr didn't label their product right or the consumer didn't read it.
    Good enclosure-rated LEDs are just starting to hit the mass market at affordable prices (in TCO terms). Feit had a decent one last spring (I have about 20 installed in enclosures, all going strong) - you can now get 3 for $25 - and Switch just dropped their new Infinia line ($12-14) with the same liquid cooling magic developed for their specialty lamps. Both are great values and warrantied for years of enclosed use.
