  •  Hugs to you, AZBlue, (5+ / 0-)

    ...and to your husband, too.
(Betcha didn't know I was a poet, huh?)

Hoping you get a response soon, and Mr. AZBlue's surgery goes as smoothly as possible, and his recovery is complete.  If all goes well, looking forward to seeing you two again when Winifred & I go down to AZ in March.

    •  Good news, sort of! (8+ / 0-)

Doesn't it just figure when I finally write about our worries over the surgery and the assistant not calling back - the phone rings and it's the surgeon's assistant!

The assistant explained that she had not returned the first call, because she was unable to contact the doctor.
She did get a hold of him today and he will be back at work the first week of February and the tentative surgery date is February 17th.
She told my husband to arrange the blood workup and other lab tests and ex-rays for next week and then set the appointment with his primary care physician for the week after to review the tests and then, hopefully, give the go ahead for the surgery.

Early Spring Training games are unlikely this year but I think that we should be able to make our traditional St. Patrick's Day game at the Oakland As stadium in Phoenix.

Will you and Winifred be here then?
If so, we could try to meetup at the game - we can get the tickets, I think - it all depends on his recovery.
The stadium is near the zoo.
This is the last year the As will play at that stadium - they move to Hohokam Park next spring and the Cubs move to their park.

If we are unable to get to the game or meetup for the game, perhaps you and Winifred would like to visit us at our home in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains?
We could grill hamburgers and have lunch?

Seeing how it goes, I could try for a meetup, but it's really difficult to plan at this point.
      We'll work it out!

Pray for peace, love and rain!
