    It's too early to be pounding these issues.  However, in the lead-up to the general, we need a serious GOTV.  Some media buys closer to the election couldn't hurt.  

    But this bombardment...

    1. may draw unwanted media attention to the ads which may poke holes in them

    2. will begin to turn off voters, particularly if the GOP keeps up its war on women/immigrants/minorities...etc..

    3. may lose their punch as voters simply get sick of them.

    They're not very pleasant to watch.

      for them to to do this now is because they have the airwaves to themselves. Remember how the Obama campaign spent all of that dough in the spring and summer defining Romney before he could respond? Everyone agreed it was very effective. The GOP argued that no one was paying attention etc...

      By the Hagan and other vulnerable Dems respond, voters will be tired of ads in general. This early money could set the tone for the race if the employer and individual mandates receive more negative attention once they kick in. Remember, more plan cancellations come out in October, just weeks before the vote.

      Go back and look what BHO did to Romney in May-August of 2012. It was brutal.
