I never understood the "pro-business at the cost of everything else in life" mindset of the GOP. If you cut all regulation on financial industry and environment and everything else, business will just do whatever gets them the most $$$. They won't protect consumers or environment or stick to good safety practices on their own.

choice citizens, er, customers, get, if one company isn't being safe, clearly their products will suck so we would buy another company's stuff. Voting with our $ will solve all these kinds of issues. Because that has always worked. Like when AT&T starts giving me bad internet service because of yesterday's ruling, I can switch over to--well, that's a bad example, because I don't have another provider to my address. Let me start over. Let's say I find out my Chevy is lame. I can then easily get my money back to buy a Ford instead, right? Oh, hmm, they don't let you do that, do they? Once bought I have to keep it, and now it's too late for my $ to vote. Well, there must be some way I can affect their bottom line, right? Right? No? Wait, you mean capitalism doesn't work without regulation? You commie!
