    That an employee wanting to have a witness present during a conversation with a boss is suspect.

    This shows a desire for management to have the unfettered opportunity to intimidate, threaten or conversely, entice employees with later-unprovable statements.

    In 3 years as a bartender back when, employees told stories of such experiences when closeted alone with a manager. Young women were sexually propositioned and even threatened with the loss of their job if they did not "cooperate." Employees were coerced into NOT PUNCHING IN to keep employee hours down, for fear of losing their job or be relegated to the worst shifts. Employees were told they were going to be written up for stealing if they did not give (false) evidence against another employee management considered a troublemaker. Etc. etc.

    None of that can happen if the employee has a witness.

    Okay, the Government says you MUST abort your child. NOW do you get it?
