  •  Nobody is saying it's implausible (5+ / 0-)

what people are saying is that A) there are gaps in THIS story and B) there's no way to confirm THIS story.

This all started with "what the Republicans did to language".

and frequently there are personal stories where we just have to take our fellow Kossack at their word. This diarist has been here almost 7 years without incidcent so I'm going to give him/her the benefit of the doubt.

I more suspicions about those who are having a hissy fit than the diarist.

I wasn't going to land like a ton of bricks until someone dropped a reference to Chris Christie in the comments. WTF does he have to do with this? Oh, it happened in New Jersey?

        Seriously??
Yeah, it could have been snark. Whatever.

Frequently there are personal stories here, and yes, this is a longtime member of DK. Given that, they should be well aware of "the way things work" around here.

Not only that, this isn't even "their personal story". It's sole source is Facebook.

Which is Pennsyltucky times ten. YOU don't have to live in this fucking state, but I do.

Fer example, in Philly today there was a protest against the governor. People were marching with ABC signs: Anybody But Corbett.

Mostly, thought, what I'm trying to say is: there are so many racists, and idiots with guns and religion (see, Obama was correct about that) and those of us who live in cities are terrified of the thugs who don't live in cities.

Thugs like those the diarist is describing.

If you don't believe in those thugs, then may I respectfully change apartments with you?

English usage is sometimes more than mere taste, judgment and education - sometimes it's sheer luck, like getting across the street. E. B. White

          •  It's NOT Pennsylvania (0+ / 0-)

            It's New Jersey.

I swear, if you can't even read the diary to know what state it's in, then you shouldn't be trying to educate ANYONE else.

            Geesh.

NO ONE has EVER suggested that it's not possible that someone called her the N word.

It's the OTHER parts of her story that don't hold water.

for me is that I do not often write diaries.  Ms. Odessa Davis' story got to me.  So I wrote this diary.

I plan on attending an event this Sunday in the Poconos where she is to receive an award for community service.

Hopefully, I can speak to her about what happened in New Jersey and post back here.
