  •  It's pizza again. Not complaining :) I'm making (10+ / 0-)

this one - garlic oil brushed on, a base of grated part-skim mozzarella, with thin-sliced zucchini, corn (I'm using canned b/c out of season - the only canned veggie I actually like except for tomatoes) mixed with pepper and red pepper flakes, and finally, feta. When it comes out of the oven, lime juice and cilantro over the top. It's a winner - from The Cheese Board's cookbook. I'm trying lesser amounts of the toppings this time - going a bit minimalist - to see what it's like.

About 1 1/2 weeks ago Mr pixxer suggested we try "all pizza, all the time" and see what we liked. It is easy to convince the pixxer to eat pizza every day, so we have been on a pizza binge - though we did take a couple breaks to use up leftovers and stuff.

Best value so far: an excellent pizza with an excellent crust at Pizza Moda on University Ave (but down a ways - not near Cal) in Berkeley. Pear and gorgonzola pizza - just fabulous! Mr pixxer took one bite and said "We'll be back!" The place is pleasant and friendly, and notably, no wine priced over $30.

At the opposite end for price, though of outstanding quality also: Pizzaiolo (the wine mr p ordered was $46 - and no, that is not our habit - but online I found it for $15 at a local store), and the same for Pizzeria Delfina - exquisite crust, Margherita sauce to die for, wines triple the RETAIL price. We are definitely going back to Pizza Moda!
