      not so much because of schadenfreude but because the coverage is so well-done and journalistic, as someone who was in the business for 30 years. Even the old cynical newsman mentor of Kornacki's who wanted to dismiss the story as politics as usual, went out of his way to compliment Kornacki's execution of the interview and his reporting skills.

      His segments last week, in which he went into great detail on the background of all the players and the intertwining issues, was like the best long-form journalism you'd find in the NYT or news magazines, VERY seldom seen on cable news. There was nothing hostile or strident about any of it. Unless Christie defines hostile or partisan as any report that doesn't give him an orgasm, he's just whistling past the graveyard, trying to convince himself and the rest of us that it's only a flesh wound, that it doesn't count if it comes from literal liberal media.
