      50 years; it's not re-normed each year.

      Note that it is not, and cannot be, a longitudinal measure of educational quality because it's taken by a self-selected group of students, not by all students or a random sample of students. Average SAT scores, for example, are higher in states where a smaller percentage of students take the test.

        in the last twenty years, in addition to being magically transformed from an "aptitude" to an "achievement" test.

        There are also other methods they use to ensure that it continues to fit some kind of normal distribution.
