    before the rent-seekers succeeded in breaking the Internet, and now they have.

    Governments don't like the Internet because it makes it much harder to control the narrative and allows people to organize and inform each other…which gets in the way of the elites ruling them like sheep.

    That includes this government, by the way, which has turned the Internet into a giant free-for-all of espionage and in the face of this ruling will not lift a finger to protect an open Internet.

      I don't agree with the comment on Naked Capitalism. I believe the Empire totally wants an open Internet..

      I mean, gawd look at it-- it's the greatest information collection device yet invented! obviously the recent NSA revelations reveal the Empire is very interested in everything about us; what we say, whom we say it to, what time of day/night we do it, what we're reading and so forth.

      So I think it will remain open-- but like everything else the oligarchy gets its greasy stubby fingers on.. it's going to get ALOT more expensive for the phat pipe access.
