    I was surprised to see the title of your diary, and even more surprised to see that you were actually referencing Jackson C Frank; not many people know his music, but it's incredible. And, he should be known for more than that one song. I think the five songs he wrote later in his little motel room are even more incredible, though "Blues Run The Game" is absolutely sui generis. I first heard the song by John Renbourn performing it. He did an incredible version that, though more mannered, certainly got across the depth of existential crisis encapsulated by it. His performance made me seek out the original and my life was enriched because of it.

      (If they've heard of the song at all) are familiar with the Simon & Garfunkel version.

      I heard the Jackson C Frank version first. There's a sublime beauty to the raw, wistful way he sings this song.

      The diarist surprised me in referencing JC Frank's song. I expected, well, I don't know what. Finding something new - one of the joys of dKos.
