run and strongly up here--and the Democratic candidate, Cynthia Dill as unknown even in Party circles. He won with about 39 percent of the vote.

Now, as it stands this year, it's LePage, our perennial spoiler, former Dem gone independent Eliot Cutler, and second district Congressman Mike Michaud, who I think will win.

Maine has been, historically, a Republican state. I think we've learned our lesson though, because besides voting in marriage equality in 2012, we also booted out the tea party assholes in our lege.

We have stayed in Pine Point, just up from Old Orchard beach, when we've had the money for it. Now my brother lives in Lovell. I've been to that part of the state once, eager to return. I even got to brush shoulders with Stephen King, but I didn't try to speak with him.

We've never traveled north of Brunswick, yet. Some day, I hope.
