  •  g'day all, found out last week, my CPA/attorney (5+ / 0-)

and best friend died last month in a car wreck.  He was a one man office with only one employee (she died the week before he did) so now we are trying to get my files (he was my attorney/CPA for 30 years and practiced for 50 years) from his office to transfer to other firms.
Last two years, my wife, my mother, and now best friend have all died.  It seems the ranks get thinner each year

    •  So sorry (2+ / 0-)

entfriend - I haven't experienced the loss of a spouse or parent, and I can only imagine how painful that must be.
But I know how difficult the loss of a best friend is.  I'm finding a great deal of consolation and support from our mutual friends and work colleagues - our grief and how much she meant to all of us has brought us even closer together.  Seek out others who shared your friendship if possible. It can be comforting to share those memories with people who knew and loved him, too.

Politics is like driving. To go backward put it in R. To go forward put it in D.
Drop by The Grieving Room on Monday nights for support in dealing with grief.
