    for the oil and gas, coal, and chemical industries in federal legislation.  What, exactly, do you expect the President to do?

      They don't exempt everything, which he can enforce. He can also come out forcefully for stronger regulation and use that against Repubs. I'm bored with this Greatest Powerless President Evah nonsense.

        it is West Virginia and not President Obama or U.S. EPA that has the primary responsibility for addressing supervision of public drinking water systems, spill prevention and countermeasures and illegal spills/discharges.

        EPA has authority to initiate a civil or criminal action for the illegal spill.   EPA also has some applicable authority under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

        I don't see any reason to be critical of the Obama Administration as the the WV matter on any count at all at the present time.   The commentors urge the bashing of  President Obama over this matter without any basis.

        Most of the environmental law exemption discussion is a miss-fire that does not address the fundamental issues.
