    to silence a person who discusses an act of racial injustice.  

    When racists are called out on their behavior, they sputter out an accusation of "using the race card" in order to get out of their wrongdoing and maintain superiority.

    They clearly know that what they did was racist, but they don't want to admit it out in the open because of the repercussions. They want to escape being subjugated.
