  •  Thanks, Dragon. It's funny, I've been eating (7+ / 0-)

a lot of pasta lately...like, every other night. I have the portion control thing down, and I can be pleasantly fully (and sometimes stuffed) every night and still lose weight. Tonight, I had two chicken breasts and broccoli covered in queso...I really don't understand why more people don't do WW, lol.

I don't mind if you're straight. Just don't flaunt it in public.

    •  My wife did WW for years. (5+ / 0-)

I didn't mind. It was good food and it was healthy for me, too.

    •  I've been following it (6+ / 0-)

without being officially "enrolled" -- have a couple of WW cookbooks I downloaded, plus my Hungry Girl cookbook has Points values. I also have a bunch of my mom-in-law's old WW cookbooks; I thought about going ahead and ordering the latest calculator so I can figure out the points under the newest system. (They keep changing it up on me...)

      •  Here's the new calculator: (6+ / 0-)

Here. The PointsPlus one. I initially lost a bunch of weight by following the old system. Now, I'm paying $18.95/month for the new system, which took some getting used to. There are some things I don't like about it...like the free fruits and veggies thing. That might be fine and dandy for people with some amount of self-control, but if you tell me I can eat as many apples as I want, I will literally eat a bag. Kind of defeats the purpose, lol. So I've started counting all of my fruits and veggies, which works out a lot better.

the vitamins and fiber outweigh the calories (no pun intended). Also under the old plans a banana or apple counted for the same amount of points as some of the fat-free treats, so more people were reaching for the treats instead of the veggies. Just count them as 1 point if that works for you, or maybe just count the fruits as one but keep the veggies free.

And I respect the method and the results I've seen.  But I dropped out again because I got tired of not counting points and not losing weight while paying a monthly fee for the privilege to feel even worse about myself.

I know what I should do: eat sensibly and exercise.  Why am I not doing what I know I should?  I don't know.  I know only that until I do, neither WW nor anything else will work.
