    people have tried. It looks like a "civilian" (non-manufacturer's) so take as a STARTING POINT for your own research and questions for Dr and Pharmacist.

    for general allergy, without sinus infection, my DH uses generic Chlortrimeton for the antihistamine, and we get both the new generic (weak-a**) Pseudoephedrine PE for day use, AND a prescription regular (real, useful) Pseudoephedrine for overnite use (although he has to get up in the middle and take again, every 4 hrs, if things are really bad). His GP has his allergy history from the specialist he saw ages ago, so will continue the Rx, 6 mo at a time.

    We recently discovered the Mucinex DM, for just a cold, and it worked great!

    read down the whole page, there's a shorter post with lots of specifics about what's the active ingredients in which... hope this helps.
