is of course to install a regime that will be pliant to our (and our corporations') strategic interests.  Of course, what they're getting is Al Qaeda & Co.  Which was either part of the plan all along, or the inevitable result of a spectacularly botched job of regime change.

They also supported the uprising against the compliant, CIA asset oil dictator in Libya.

If you look at the administration's actions towards the Arab Spring uprisings and come away with "install a regime that will be pliant to our strategic interests," you're jamming a round peg into a square hole.

      •  we backed the MB gov't in Egypt? (0+ / 0-)

Sure, at the last minute, once Mubarak had lost all support from his own army and was gibbering nonsense on Egyptian television.  We'd been supporting him up to that point -- and sure enough, we supported the overthrow of the MB to put the old nomenklatura back in power.

We also installed in Libya a regime much more "compliant" than the one in place.

        Thanks for making my point!

          I see you don't.

I see you also think the Muslim Brotherhood was an important part of the protests against Mubarak.

The hell we did! The current government in Libya can barely keep the lights on, while Gadhaffi's government made the country open for business to every western oil company that came along, after the Bush administration sidled up to them. You seriously think western business interests are happier with the political situation in Libya today than in 2010?

You know the narrative you like to push. You don't seem to know very much else.

          •  the current Libyan government is (0+ / 0-)

remarkably compliant.  It's just not in control of much of the country, is all.

            Maybe your problem is lexicographical.

Except for Gadaffi's little problem with currencies.  You seem to forget that part.

Which Egyptian government did the United States delay military aid to:

          A. The Muslim Brotherhood-led government.

          B. The Sissi government that succeeded them.

C'mon, this one is easy. Golden opportunity for you to be factually correct about something.
