my parents and an aunt and uncle of mine played a game every Saturday night or Sunday afternoon at the Aunt's house some 40 miles from ours. It was not DnD but a variant of one called Wahoo! now ( a dice-driven marble race game).

That was my introduction to collections of dice. They all had to be d6, but ... omg, I think Dad and my uncle played with one each (borrowed from either my aunt or Mom), while Mom had several dozen, each different from all the others, and my Aunt had a collection augmented by travel or inheritance numbering in the low hundreds.

I play Pathfinder (catfolk Ranger; currently a Catfolk exemplar, always a shooter) and I only own two full sets of dice; but I have a few spares. My collection of d6 includes three dozen tiny dice in shades of translucent blue, four copper/espresso d6, and one "regular" size d6. I have some sub-10mm d20/10/3/8s (two shades of blue) and a "teacher's" set of multi-colored primary-shade numbers on 1'' white dice.

what do you think of it??  I never got the 3.5 books, so how does it compare to versions 2 or 3??

      •  can't really compare them to 2 or 3 (0+ / 0-)

they're better (more fun, less hassle) than 4 or 1, from where I relate to the games. In an old version (pre-graphics) I played 1.0 via computer (before Windows 3.0, so long ago), and Pathfinder's lots better.

      •  Pathfinder is basically 3.75 with a bunch of (0+ / 0-)

names changed for legal reasons.  With 3.x they finally got rid of that stupid "memorization" idea and switched to preparation (i.e. most of the spell is pre-cast when it is prepared in the morning and the actual "casting" is just the final finishing words/gestures).  No real change to the Vancian mechanics, just the explanation of why it works that way.

You have watched Faux News, now lose 2d10 SAN.
