  •  I like Dual Survivor. (0+ / 0-)

At least with shows like that, there's an actual emphasis on showing the audience how something could be survived - the snow stranding episode where they showed just how much useful stuff can be stripped off a vehicle comes to mind, along with the way they demonstrate how to make two-ply cord if you need to whenever an opportunity arises.

And while there's definitely interpersonal conflict, it's the "I think I know better how to get the two of us out of this" sort instead of the "I will be the last one standing" sort.

    •  I like that one too, for the same reasons. I also (0+ / 0-)

like Alaska The last Frontier.  It shows alot of real survival stuff, and reminds me of my childhood.  I lived on a farm, we lived off the land, what we raised and hunted and grew, and I learned alot from that, made me a better person I think.  So I can relate to the Kilcher family.  Jewel the singer is Atz Kilcher's daughter, and I also always loved her music.
