  •  What a terrible accusation (1+ / 0-)

Firstly, it's obviously not true on the face, given what you're currently seeing in terms of Obama's negotiations with Iran.

Secondly, "Israel" is not Netanyahu.  Israel has elected peacemakers like Rabin as recently as a decade ago before it sadly turned to far right exremism in the face of Arafat's terrorist campaign, the Second Intifada, from 2000-2002.

But you can hardly fault Israel for turning nationalistic after 500 suicide bombers set off nail bombs in schoolyards and pizza parlors.

Who do you think America would elect if we went through what Israel went through for three years?  There wouldn't be a Palestinian alive today if we went through that kind of coordinated terror campaign.

This notion that Israel controls the United States through secret hidden channels is so fucking incorrect and so pathetic in its continuation of paranoid conspiracy theories as to be shameful.

    Do some research.

Perhaps you can read up on Henry Ford's Dearborn Independent in the 1920s to understand just how long this bullshit has been with us.

    I recommend Chapter Five:

Just now these tendencies are working in two directions, one for the tearing down of the Gentile states all over the world, the other for the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. The latter project engaged the attention of the whole world. The Zionists make a great deal of noise about Palestine, but it can scarcely be designated as more than an unusually ambitious colonization scheme. The Jewish "home" idea so sedulously cultivated is a very useful smokescreen for the confiscation of the immeasurable sources of mineral and oil wealth. It is also serving as a very useful public screen for the carrying on of secret activities.

International Jews, the controllers of the world's governmental and financial power, may meet anywhere, at any time, in war or peace time, and by giving out that they are only considering the ways and means of opening up Palestine to the Jews, they easily escape the suspicion of being together on any other business.

Israel wants to scuttle the deal with Iran so that it can attack them - but it actually want the US to do them for them.

This is obvious to just about everyone, including the Israeli press.  This is not 1920 and I am not Ford - your quote of the famously anti-semtic Ford has nothing to do with this debate.  It is revealing that you have to quote from it.

I have no great love for the Palestinians.  But to pretend Israel hasn't been trying to accomplish annex the West Bank, and has simply ignored US objections regarding the settlements is absurd.  Israel doesn't give a damn what we think.

I have little doubt Israel and the Palestinians will continue killing each other for decades - until they realize the truth - neither has wanted peace, they have wanted victory.

That is their right.  They do not have the right to interfere outrageously in US affairs.

AND they do not have a right to try and drag us into another war.

      NOT MY SON!

Israel has no problem acting militarily on its own.  If it wants to bomb Iran, it will.

Telling me to "go to hell" for pointing out that Israel does not secretly control the United States and such accusations have a long, sordid history, is just silly.
