  •  what's this "west coast" culture thing? (4+ / 0-)

I keep reading? Sure, there is a little something to it in that it is a bit more open and publicly acceptable in some places in the west. But weed is a part of the culture everywhere, I can assure you. The culture in some places may be more closeted, in the same ways as gay people historically have been and some still are, but the culture is not geographically contained.

    •  It's pretty pronounced from what I've seen (0+ / 0-)

I live on the east coast but have a handful of friends on the west coast that I like to visit now and then. At parties on the east coast, weed is not flowing around the room. If there's a pot-smoking troupe at the party, they go into the backyard, do their own thing, and most others don't really associate with them. At west coast parties, the joint is being passed throughout the room. There's a pretty stark contrast.

Even in California there's a contrast. It's not so much in LA, but much more pronounced in SF.
