  •  I'm not sure the OP has actually been watching (13+ / 0-)

TRMS. Ms Maddow has been giving complete coverage of the story but her show has not been completely about Chris Christie. She has covered a bunch of other topics.

    From last night's show:
Seg 1: A comprehensive recap of everything in the NJ scandal up to today.
Seg 2: GOP new nominating schedule.
Seg 3: Break-in at nuclear facility.
Seg 4: Cannibal Rat Ship of Death and a cocktail.

You can lead a Republican to knowledge but no matter how hard you try, you just can't make them think.

    •  This is just a hit job. (11+ / 0-)
My wife and I are dedicated Rachel Maddow fans
Right, big fans. But when Maddow takes a big risk by doggedly chasing an obscure story that turns into national headlines, this dedicated fan takes to the public airwaves to denigrate Maddow and her show. It's one thing to give balanced criticism, but the tone and the content of this diary are really shameful.
    •  We've seen every show this week (0+ / 0-)

and I admit to seeing the other stories.

But what I remember is the Christie coverage.

The nuclear story from last night was NOT one of her best. I'd rather she sought out some peripheral official at the NJ Statehouse, but I do agree the nuclear story offered insight I hadn't known before, which is what I'm getting at.

It's just the preponderance of recapping the scandal to date, every time there's some new angle, it just got to me. I was weary of it - I already believe Christie is toast, so can we get some perspective on the other issues.

Yeah, cover Christie, but realize different viewers have different thresholds - until the subpoenas have all been fully answered, and the testimonies taken, we'll be seeing replays of the story ad infinitum, don't you guess?

How about we use SOME more of that time paying attention to other things?

      That's all I'm saying...

You have to understand that she is purposefully explaining the Christie story every night as clearly as she can and connecting the dots every nightbecause everyone doesn't watch her show every day!
You are doing the classic thing that people do when they are knowledgeable about a subject: they forget that other people are NOT. The connections and political pay backs and all the different players and how Christie knows them is what makes this story matter!
She wants to make sure that anyone who hears about her show due to the added exposure, possibly curious republicans or independents who haven't heard anything on FOX and want to find out what is going on, will be able to follow the connections in this case.
I think its awesome, yes MSNBC is riding it and riding it, but dear Lord, this guy was beating Hillary in the polls and getting ready to have the backing of the Koch Brothers and the entire Repug Machine of liars. NOTHING is more important then outing him for the corrupt ass that he is.

As someone said in an  earlier post, we liberals have to see the big picture, that none of the things we want for this Country and this world can have a prayer of happening without a Democratic President. Don't delude yourself for a second about that fact.
        Go Rachel, Go Steve!

    •  Of course the Cannibal Rat Ship is a metaphor (1+ / 0-)

for what the NJ rats are likely to be doing as they lawyer up, spill their guts if they can get protection, and rat out their buddies.
So it basically is Christie also.
