    is a whole nother ball of wax. If a cat does the "where ARE you??" from a young age, it's not senility. If the cat starts doing it past age 10 (and they generally don't start til 14 or so), it may well be senility. Or it could be the beginnings of hearing loss. The cat doesn't hear its people in the other room anymore, unless they speak/yell. And cats know that if they meow a few times, their people will generally answer.

    My Silhouette, who passed at age (almost) 17, had lost a good bit of her hearing. She never slept so well! No more jumping to look every time a mouse farted.
