I wonder how many people actually are independent in the manner they have voted for both R and D candidates in statewide or presidential elections. I would bet there are very few. Many just say they are independent because they don't want to be associated with the parts of their real party they don't like.

I rather believe that the combination of environmental disasters and climate instability with insecurity in food supply resulting out of it, with technology destroying so many jobs and livelihoods of the middle/poor class  plus a maze of international wars, in which the US will always be involved in, that those factors will create so much animosities against the US from abroad and from within against its government that it  will break this country's people. I believe people will psychologically be "so on the edge and off the cliff" that they can't manage a coherent revolutionary movement anymore.

IF the 85 richest people talk arrogant or not, is in fact completely irrelevant, they will not suffer and turn their coats at any moment. But the suffering of all others will create a breakdown and crash that nobody will be able to control anymore. People in the middle are not asleep. They are scared, exhausted and at the end of their ropes pretty much. At least that's my awful guts' feelings.

During the great depression in the US, you didn't have a revolution either. They got Roosevelt's New Deal  and a war that created jobs for the masses. That saved them. I don't think this time around it will be same.

But heh, just me being pretty fearful of what is ahead of us.
