Legalization brings on a different kind of regulation and control.

Marijuana is not unregulated in Colorado while cigarettes or trans fats are. Now they are both regulated.

It's perfectly reasonable to say that you disagree with liberals who support legalization/decriminalization and support a ban on trans fats, but that doesn't mean their position is hypocritical.

For starters, hypocrisy isn't even the correct concept.

ypocrisy is the state of falsely claiming to possess virtuous characteristics that one lacks. Hypocrisy involves the deception of others and is thus a kind of lie.
You are merely asserting that one position is inconsistent with another position given a set of values. The point of my essay was to show that both positions are consistent with a coherent and reasonable set of values. You are free to disagree with those values and/or either or both positions, but your claim that a left of center case for legalization of pot and a ban on trans fats is hypocritical  fails.
