  •  Friend of mine wrote a song like that (8+ / 0-)

about the Richard Reed (shoe bomber) incident, to the tune of Woody Guthrie's song about the Reuben James. It recounted the incident, named off those who got Reed under control, and then went into the chorus,

Who did the deed, tell me, who did the deed?
Did you have a friend who subdued Richard Reed?
In fact the author was DKos' own AdmiralNaismith. Good song, sir. And kudos to you for getting a hand-written note for Pete Seeger. One of the things I wish I had done that I can never do now was write Pete Seeger a letter thanking him for everything he'd done.

Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

    •  I also riffed on "Reuben James." (5+ / 0-)

      My last verse went:

Some like to point their fingers and tell us who they think we should blame.
Some say we're in this together, and so we must share in the shame.
But when it happens again, and you know that it will,
For the world's full of swine that feeds on plenty of swill,
And when we count up the dead like debtors tally a bill,
      Will we Remember Their Names?
