    that for a populace to revolt against a current model it has to see its future as substantially bleaker than its present.  For 40-50 years the bottom 80% has been slowly experiencing a degradation of their circumstances.  By making that degradation incremental, never reaching the point where most people see no hope at all, the powers that be keep a lid on any mass effect, and only the minority gadflies are heard from and can be dismissed.

    The question is where is the tipping point?  Has neocon, neoliberal agenda begun to overreach on policies starting to affect outcomes and prospects on a basis too large to keep the populace subdued?  I suppose only time will tell.

      comment months ago that stuck with me (and I've used elsewhere) about when most of us are huddled under a freeway bridge eating roasted rat-on-a stick... as being the tipping point.  

      That certainly would be a tipping point, but I think it can come sooner.   When enough people are seriously impacted by the policies of the GOP, they will do something.   Some type of Significant Emotional Event where they get screwed.
