I've been alive for over 62 years, during those 62 years we had the Korean War, McCarthy's war on Sanity, the Vietnam War, Nixon's war on Democracy, Reagan's war on drugs (while selling arms to IRAN), Bush41's Gulf War, Bush43's Afghanistan War and the fabricated war on Iraq...then there's the Regressives' (Republican) war on women, gays, poor people, the middle class, the environment, black people, the media, and the president not to mention common decency and intelligence.

Edwin Starr "War what is it good for?"  Outside of thinning the herd of poor and middle class people to make room for the GOP's rich benefactors...  nada, nothing.

        You've forgotten Grenada.

Seriously, though, WWII was the last war that protected us (and, the world, probably) from totalitarianism.  All of the rest have been to keep communism and socialism from winning hearts and minds, and therefore ousting capitalists from their thrones.

(Same generation.) It is the Democrats that brought the war on the poor to fruition. The Clinton Dems wiped out basic poverty relief, and still found time to begin attacking Social Security, targeting the disabled (we pay into retirement and disability). Liberal media virtually ignored the consequences. Lib media/Dems and are pushing H. Clinton for president -- Clinton was a leading lobbyist for NAFTA, responsible for tremendous job loss in the US. Last night, Obama stressed that ONLY those who are of use to employers are worthy of fundamental human rights (food and shelter). Democrats have been poison for the poor, elderly and disabled.
