That's the typical right wing bull shit that is used to try and buy some time.

You never see a lawyer proclaiming to the media that his client has quite a story to tell if they would just grant him immunity from everything imaginable. Doesn't happen.

You don't see somebody, with their lawyer sitting next to them, trying to plead the fifth when it's not even allowed. As happened when Wildstein sat before the NJ state reps and clammed up.

    There is something there.

Who is going to wind up with it in their lap is the question.

    •  Not to the media. To the prosecutors. (0+ / 0-)

Most criminal cases aren't fought in the media.

As to pleading the fifth, go check your constitution some time.  It protects you from incriminating yourself, not from incriminating somebody else.

There might be something there.  Wildstein is clearly wants to save his own butt and is seeking immunity.  I notice that he hasn't gotten it.  Is that because the prosecutors are slow or because they are skeptical?

        Exactly my point.

As to the fifth - it's protection against self incrimination.

And I didn't even need to check my constitution!

Unfortunately for him he couldn't plead the fifth in that particular hearing. Contempt charges are still up in the air.

What is this world coming to?

This will be interesting to watch.

How does immunity move along in a case like this?
With such a big fish to fry, you'd think the prosecutors would be proceeding with some relish.  On the other hand, Wildstein isn't going anywhere.
