  •  hmmm, apparently i cared so much about this (4+ / 0-)

I wrote TWO versions of a new fight song.

Here's a mashup of the best of both versions, getting rid of the "read em weep em" pidgin language.

    Hail to the Pigskins
    hail victory
    Drive to the end zone
    fight! for old D.C.!

    whomp and stomp and
we'll run up a big score
    pass and dash for touchdowns
    let the points soar
fight on, fight on, 'til you have won
    sons of Wash.  Ing. Ton.
    (fight fight fight)

    Hail to the Pigskins
    hail victory
    Hogs scoring touchdowns
    fight! for old D.C.!

(the offensive line used to be called the Hogs)

Once again, they can have the song for free if they change the name and the "mascot"

Politics is like driving. To go backward put it in R. To go forward put it in D.

    •  hmm... the word touchdowns is repeated twice (5+ / 0-)

even though they play the song after every touchdown, that needs to be fixed.. plus that line does not scan well.

      third time's a charm:

      Hail to the Pigskins
      hail victory
      Drive to the end zone
      fight! for old D.C.!

whomp and stomp and we'll run up a big score
pass and dash and kick and let the points soar
fight on, fight on, 'til you have won
      sons of Wash.  Ing. Ton.
      (fight fight fight)

      Hail to the Pigskins
      hail victory
      Hogs scoring touchdowns
      fight! for old D.C.!
C'mon Dan!  The fight song is the stumbling block, I just know it.  Here's your new fight song!!!   It's way past time to make this change!!!
