The trend of avoiding cameras and journalists began with Palin and many have picked up on it.  They've found that they can do things like screen town hall meetings or do a "live" Q&A on the net and be just fine.  As the loss of net neutrality makes it harder for Dem's to get our messages out, and we shrivel into little more than a cult of die-hards who keep telling everyone else there's always a chance to rise again, it will become even less necessary for "elected" Rep's to appear in public.  They won't.  They don't like us, anyway, so why take the chance a rogue Dem with a gun might take them out?
