    •  Actually I worked at a reprographics print co. (5+ / 0-)

In the San Jose Bay Area that got purchased by a larger company.  At first, the company was a family-run business that treated their employees well, and paid them pretty good wages.  I worked as a computer operator who specialized in printing Autocad drawing files to vellum for blueprint making.

Technology changed, printers got more efficient, and the family-run company was bought out by Ford Reprographics in LA, to become American Reprographics Company, or ARC.  By the time ARC was formed, employees were treated, not as assets, but as monkeys who were supposed to do every job in a department for minimum wage.  "Do more, with less," was the new corporate model, and that also included less pay, and no raises.  It got to be a toxic workplace for me.

Been out of ARC for years.  Don't even want to look back at them.
