Somebody did some splainin to the teappers. The Kochs?

The bazillionaires and corporate legions make bazillions off of debt. Corporate debt, student debt, mortgage debt, credit card debt, government debt. Debt is profitable. Debt gives you leverage.

Somebody owes you, you own them. Foreclosure. Ram a little austerity down a whole country's throat. Rip up labor contracts. Loot pension funds. Buy public assets at firesale prices. Make whole countries crumble into chaos and despair.

That's why they've foisted so much debt on us over the last 50 years. That's how they've made their money. That's how the took over the whole goddamn world. Made people beg and bleed to avoid default, protect their credit rating.

Debt is sacred. Your credit score is your life. They've made a business out of telling you your fucking credit score! Seriously, people pay to be told what bankers think of them.

Your bond rating is your country's future. "Nice country you got. Be too bad if a little austerity plan happened."

You start f*kin with debt, you're messin with some rich people. Governments start defaulting, everybody starts defaulting. Maybe debt isn't so sacred we need to sacrifice our children to keep the banksters happy, keep 'em away from the door.

The teappers were messin with debt. Rich people own those government bonds. The US defaults, all hell breaks loose. Maybe everybody defaults, on everything. All that nice debt is just paper. There's no more top to skim from. Then where are the banksters? Then where are the Kochs, and their buddies?

OK. A bit over the top. A bit. Banksters have created a debt issue, and use that debt to make gobs of money and bust our collective balls.

I know a default would be a disaster for everyone, not just the banksters

    But...

Wall Street was clearly pissed at the idea of doing the default hostage taking thing, even more about doing it again. Obama and the Dems have clearly shown that they will not negotiate with these terrorists. So, the teappers needed to surrender.

And, clearly, the teappers got the message. It's their austerity program.

Peace on Earth was all it said.

...from the perspective of doing something to prevent runaway global warming.   If one thing should be clear to environmentalists in light of Obama approving Keystone, it's that the only way to stop this runaway carbon based economy is to stop the Fed's immoral funding of it.

      •  But it would be a disaster in other ways (0+ / 0-)

Perhaps there's a better way to prevent runaway global warming that doesn't itself also cause so much harm?

A true Tea Party troll. It doesn't matter why you want to tank the US and global economies, so long as that is what you want.

        1.  Obama has not approved Keystone XL yet.
        2.  Default would not be a disaster??  Regardless of "the perspective," that's the most uninformed comment I've seen in a while.
        3.  Very strange conflation of morality and the Fed.

If I could HR you more than once/day I would.
