  •  the "great folk-rock backbeat" (4+ / 0-)

was "things have changed" from the film "the wonder boys".  when i first heard it, i was struck the the chorus "i used to care, but things have changed.".  i felt that if bob dylan didn't care anymore, we were in deep kimchee.  i was glad to see him in this commercial as opposed to clint eastwood last year.  bob dylan doesn't have to live up to anybody's expectations at this late date and as he says "things have changed."

I recognized that immediately when the commercial started and was surprised enough that Bob had sold the song, then there he was himself.

Agree completely that Bob Dylan does not have to justify himself to me.

      •  exactly my reaction (0+ / 0-)

First I thought maybe he'd licensed the song, that someone was doing a cover version. Then I heard the voice and knew it was the real thing.

        And then, amazingly, Bob himself.

I'll always be UID:180, even if Markos tries to pry it away.

I suspect from reading a bit of social media today that some younger folks listened to the first Dylan yesterday and liked it.

The politicians may be bought, and the system corrupt, but it is our duty to fix these things.

Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends. - Gandalf the Grey
