  •  My response: Go fuck youself Safety Ed. (25+ / 0-)

Who emptied Ed's head out and filled it with Republican shit?

I especially loved the 17% higher CO2 per barrel from burning Tar Sand oil  -vs- 28% more CO2 produced by choo-choo trains moving oil instead of a pipeline.

Yeah, only the "x10^20th" missing after the 17% measure kinda matters ... between a 3K mile choo-choo train trip vs actually burning the OIL the Choo-Choo train carried.

Safety? Yeah, well NOT transporting and NOT burning this shit is 100% ... SAFE. So leave it in the ground wins, right?

    Safety Ed

Don't bother mentioning ripping up hundreds of miles of forest (that converts CO2 to O2) to dig up this crap ... DIG UP not drill for... or that actually burning the 2.7 Trillion Tons of Carbon contents may push the planet over the edge into a death's spiral of runaway greenhouse feedback ...

All to make a few worthless assholes a few extra $$.

Here's the deal Ed, The Planet (tm) is worth infinitely more than the lives of the handful of filthy rich shitheads you are shilling for. Since they insist on making it a "The Planet or Them" choice .... I choose The Planet.

So, they gotta GO. Through the door or out the window.

    •  He's saying it is all about safety and states that (6+ / 0-)

technology is here to save us all.  His big point is that only 500 barrels of oil will leak out every 2 years because of flow sensors in the pipeline.  What happens in a perfect storm when a pipe breaks and it takes the flow sensor with it?  I'd bet more than 500 barrels, maybe 500,000 barrels?  Ed doesn't seem to believe this is possible.  And he ridicules callers for saying it is too dangerous.  I listened to his arguments yesterday and realized I couldn't agree with him.  Today, he started out with the same story, over and over.  He says he's all for the safety, but doesn't listen to anyone's arguments about safety issues or how the study might be tainted.  I changed channels.  I couldn't listen to him anymore.  I normally listen to him going to work and most of the time, I agree with him, but he's out on a limb so far, he'll have a tough time climbing back.  I'll see how he does tomorrow, but I won't give it a second of time tomorrow.  If he keeps on this all KXL all the time radio, I vote with my finger.
