  •  Thanks for emphasizing "Up to the (29+ / 0-)

    Poverty Level".

That cannot be said (written) too many times - it has to sink in at some point to our "normal" republican neighbor (that is, those that, for the most part, still have some human compassion).

The information that I am reading these last few weeks has really gotten me down.  I feel like I should sit in a corner and sob my heart out.  It is so demoralizing to realize that hate has taken over the world again in such an overt form; one in which a person is proud to proclaim how much he hates others.

My heating bill came two days ago - double the largest bill we have ever had to date:  I was a bit upset and depressed looking at it but quickly got over it by remembering that we are very fortunate to have a house that we can heat.  So many do not.  But how many of these sicko politicians care about it or even think about men, women, children and companion animals in desperate situations caused solely by arrogant politicians and the group of extreme / obscene* uniquely american capitalists.

(*not meaning that all capitalists are obscene or extreme; just those that have taken it to the level of hatred to everyone who is not me)

    •  There's no need to disclaim (0+ / 0-)

a distain for capitalists. I disagree with Wiki that capitalism is "an economic system"; I see it as a component of an economic system. (Sadly, it's also become an overwhelming component of our systems of governance.) But because capitalism, like corporatism, is bereft of any moral component, pure capitalism would constitute an anarchy that would collapse in on itself without the infrastructures that only socialism can provide for it's markets to function.

Capitalism isn't evil, nor is it good; it's just a system that has interacting components. It can't be reasoned with nor appealed to. If someone wants to identify themself as a capitalist, I do have distain for them - the best I can do is pity their emptiness. I think you had it right at "sicko".
