  •  A counter-ad for Kay Hagan (6+ / 0-)

I have read the CBO report and I can tall you that if this is what my opponent thinks it says, then his reading comprehension level makes him unqualified to serve in Congress.  One important part of that job is the ability to read reports like these and understand what they actually say.  He has just demonstrated an inability to perform that function.  The report does not say that people will lose their jobs because of the Affordable Care Act.  The only other possibility is that he reads better than he is pretending to, knows what the report really says, and is just lying to you about it.

That's why he led NC's effort to effectively cut NC's unemployment benefits IN HALF by reducing both the number of weeks available and the maximum payment amount. The cuts that voilated federal mandates and eliminated extended federal benefits in NC last July - 6 months before House Republicans cut off the rest of the country.

Tillis is a typical Republican - he's a heartless liar.

tone of these ads. It's more like this.

My opponent has criticized me for voting with the Presdient on bills such as the Affordable Care Act. He says that the CBO report shows the ACA will hurt families and kill jobs. I have a question for him. Is he stupid, lying or is it just that he can't read?

      The CBO report actually states

that two million full-time workers would choose to not work full-time anymore, because now they wouldn't be trapped in their jobs for the health insurance. Two million workers who can stay at home to raise their young children, or allow their broken bodies to retire early, or maybe even start a new business.
By voting with Pres. Obama Kay Hagan is supporting families by guaranteeing them good health care that they can afford. That's why North Carolina needs Kay Hagan in the U.S. Senate.  She can read.

And it repeats your opponents point - just driving home the bad message further.  If you're going to mention the CBO report at all (which people will not care about in November anyway), just hit three highlights from it that favor your side (reduced deficit a trillion dollars, cut number of uninsured by X, whatever else), and smile.

it's required to lie about everything related to Obama.

If he failed to do so, he would lose all support for his future desire to steal ever more every year from the poor to give to the rich so they will help him get richer.
